Services We Offer

At the Aubrey Equestrian Center, we offer two types of services. First, we offer experiential psychotherapy that includes the equines. Activities in this therapy include equine handling, grooming, longeing, and riding. Learning and self awareness come in a very natural way when interacting with equine partners. Horses remind us how to reconnect with our body, mind, and spirit. Much healing can occur in this partnership as one explores relationships, personal habits, one’s creativity, and adaptation. Thought and behavioral patterns that no longer work are highlighted, and new, more effective communications are discovered to facilitate one’s relationships, communications, and life.

Second, we offer therapeutic riding, which includes horseback riding lessons to individuals. Our staff is NARHA certified, and we teach horseback riding lessons to anyone who is interested as well as to children and adults with special needs. Because horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves the rider's body in a manner similar to a human gait, riders with physical disabilities often show improvement in flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. For individuals with mental or emotional disabilities, the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, patience, and self-esteem. Individual and group sessions are available.

Finally, we offer regular, old-fashioned horseback riding lessons for children and adults. Please join us at our next event. Click here for a list of our upcoming workshops.
